Default TPMS disabling

Hello all,
It has been quite some time since I have posted..still a B5 S4 avant owner, and have just added an 08 S4 sedan..love the car, although nowhere near as quick as the biturbo....My question is how to disable the TPMS? I have tried the instruments 17, channel 6 approach without any luck..does anyone have another path to follow?
Appreciate any leads.
Happy thanksgiving.
Cheers,
David
Will get a pic of the latest shortly..

Default winter wheel setup...

Being cheap..do not really want to shell out the $$ for the sensors for the winter setup.

Default check the vag-com forum...

I asked the question there and there's a reply.

My notes say:

Select -> 17-Instruments -> Adaptation -> Channel 61.

Subtract 512 from whatever value you find there.

to enable, add 512

Default did you already install your winter wheels?

do you have a warning light on the cluster? the reason I ask is that TPMS doesn't really work for ****. I put new wheels on my RS4 (w/o TPMS sensors) and never got a warning indicator. A few others on here had the same experience.
