Default Where are you located...I had to leave a $2K

deposit as well. I think this is an absurd amount of money for a car that is going to be in regular stock anyway, but I did it because I got a quick allocation and a friendly/helpful salesman. Most places only want $500 to $1K to order, so I'm just wondering if we are working with the same dealer, or if a lot of dealers are losing their minds these days.

Yea, but with 'special orders' like that, is the deposit really refundable?

Default I was told it was...

but I'm not really planning on backing out of it... that's just what the salesman told me.

Well... he said it was Texas state law, so might not apply to other states naturally.

The way it was described to me was they will hold the deposit until they sell the car. Makes sense - more unique the care, potentially the harder to sell, hence should.have a higher deposit.
