Default I totally agree...but from a financial standpoint...

being that they are in the business to make money, not spend it, they are better off fixing trannies as they break, rather then spend the money on parts, labor, shipping, etc to fix/replace every S4 they have already sold. It sucks, but it's business.

Default My VIN ends in A034874 and they scheduled an appointment to check the transmission....

The car was already in the shop to fix a failed key remote, and I called the dealer and mentioned the reverse problems and asked them to check for a TSB.

They called back and said there was a TSB for the reverse problem and my VIN was in the range. They've scheduled me for 3 days in January to inspect and repair it if necessary.

Depending on how you count the days, that will put me at or over the 15 days in the shop needed to lemon it....

Default Actually. I read it at the Service Counter, after I made my Appointment for 1/6/04...

to have my tranny removed. The Service advisor asked if I wanted to keep it while I was trying to figure out how to swipe it, and I said, "well...OK." All on the up and up.

Default Honestly I do not know. Mine is...108334.

The way I read it. It looks as if they fixed the problem for transmissions built after 07.10.03, October 10, 2003. So my guess is any VIN ending in 112878 and higher should be alright. Who really knows though.

Default I wish they had been proactive. I lost Reverse once in mid November...

and then I brought it back in this AM due to the shifting into first/second getting caught on the corners of the reverse gate. When I was their, I told them of the TSB, they looked it up and said lets schedule dropping the tranny!!
