Ultra S4

nice. can the solid black piece behind the lower mesh be removed?
i think it would look more aggressive and less "fake" with that piece removed. i know in the case of the 3.2 bumper on my tt, it was indeed possible to remove it.

damn! really looks like two pieces in the pic, too :-( still, you could ...
dremel or somehow hollow it out, with a lot of patience. raffi did that with his 3.2 rear valance (see "valance cutting" and "valance painted").

I saw the ultra bumper when it arrived and it didn't look like it came with the metal support, but I am not positive about this. The one from the s4 bumper was undamaged, so it could have been used. Insurance paid for the bumper, but I had to pay my $1000 deductable. I also paid a little extra to return an s4 bumper because I changed my mind a day after they order the s4 bumper which complicated things a little. You need A4 fog lights because the housings are smaller, but the bulbs are the same. (used my hoens) I haven't paid the bill yet as they are still returning some extra parts but I would suspect it would cost something like this:
$450 for bumper
$200 for 2 fogs
$50-75 ultra lower grill
$40 for side grills
8 hours paint and labor
can't remember how much paint is
so probably $1200-$1400 for bumper/paint/labor
Insurance doesn't cover an extra parts the a4 fogs, etc grills, etc.

damnit, now I'm going to be up until 4am with the dremel tool
hehe. I feel the same way you do. the grills need to be pure mesh, no black backdrop. mesh center grills would look nice too.
Did you get my email about the free TT cover?
