Anyone ever have unexpected acceleration in their S4 Tip?
I had just started driving and pulled out of a parking spot. I flip the gear selector into tip like I always do and tapped the gas to start going, the car FLYS forward (no esp lag like normal) and I lift my foot off the pedal, the car is still accelerating without my foot on the pedal and I hit the brake hard. As soon as I hit the brake a few times the acceleration seems to stop. But I went about a block before stopping, if a car would have been in front of me it could have been bad. Then I very carefully tried the gas again and it seemed fine. I made sure to be careful driving home and it seemed to happen one more time where the gas pedal went all the way down even without my foot still on it.
Anyone ever have this happen? Any ideas?
The first time I thought I might have done something wrong, not sure what though.. and I had enough time to hit the horn and hold it down for a second or two while accelerating. The 2nd time I was testing to try and make it happen (was on empty road) and as soon as it seemed to happen I hit the brake.
I am going to take it in for a quick look over on Monday.

When the B6 first came out several people reported this quirk. Also reported delayed acceleration when trying to pass, which can also be dangerous. These are two reasons I decided to stay with my B5=too many quirks with B6.

It was prob. less then a full block, but as I was on a crowded street and was very surprised by my car accelerating by itself, my sense of distance and time was lengthened.

I really don't see how that can happen. I can see the possibility of it sticking but the pedal moved on its own?

(Time, I think) eventually admitted that those complaints were trumped up and that the vehicle that was tested had been tampered with to produce the desired result. They later printed a retraction but the damage to Audi's reputation was already done

several sources (including the government) never found that to be true, so it was determined that it was from driver error, and Audi almost fell off the map in the US for no reason.
