Update on RS4 delay
Initial run of 200 RS4's for US production and May June delivery is finishing up, Orders have been taken by US dealers and matching initial cars to customers are well underway and going quickly, very few spots remain.
Audi is commited to giving the customer the best product possible and therefore has chosen to delay the release of US RS4's because of issues with earlier cars produced for Europe. Audi assures these issues are only minor and in no way will affect the reliability or functionality of the RS4.
It is Audi's belief that the majority of the issues have appeared within the requierd break-in period and thus has decided to have Audi professionals drive the cars until the break-in period in fullfilled, cars that are defective will be factory reconditioned and then released for shipping to the US. Audi reserves the right to replace the RS4 engine with the more reliable engine from the previous B6/7S4.
Once all cars have been thouroghly checked and repaired they will be shipped and arrive at US dealers around about August 2012 for a price of $87k and showing test mileage of between 5500 and 10000 miles, but once again Audi will assure the car to be trouble free and under warranty for 2yrs/24kmi inclusive of milage already on the vehicles whichever comes first.
Audi of America is fully aware of its customers needs and as always is pleased to offer the best dealer service and customer care in the automotive business.
Sincerly,
Audi of America

I thought this car was supposed to be less expensive than the RS6?
It appears to be price gouging to me. The new M3 V8 priced in the $60ks ( even at $69K) will be a bargain and will most likely outperform the RS4. IMHO,THE RS4 IS NOT WORTH IT!

The way things are going, I wouldn't be so sure?
Audi is trying the military way of production.
Come up with operational perameters
Then come out with a product that doesn't meet any of the requirements RS4-A
Then every few months come out with improved models which in some way get closer to the original requirements RS4-B, RS4-C and so on.
Finally a finished product that meets all rquirements RS4-H which is so outdated no one wants it anymore, yet it is the most capable and reliable version produced.

You forgot the part about paying a local contractor an incredible amount of money, then they
slack off and don't do a damn thing.
I was laughing when reading this post as I am active duty and deal with this sort of thing everday.
