Venetian Violet in the sun

Um, when there;s reflection of a tree on the paint, we generally call that "shade."
Seriously. Put your car out in the middle of an empty parking lot and take a pic! It's not that hard!

wrong. that's a reflection, not a shadow
not to be a dick, but you should understand the difference. and if you look at the ground you'll see that the shadow is casting to the right (very high sun angle for this time of year, probably taken ~noon.

I said shade: Light diminished in intensity as a result of the interception of the rays;
If there is a reflection, there is shade by default. Don't claim I edited, ron barry can confirm ;-p
The tree may not be directly in between the sun and the car, but sunlight does not just hit the car from the side the sun is located...light comes from all around.
When there is shade, no matter what time of of day, there isn't direct sunlight on the parts of the car where there's a reflection! See what I mean?
Then you go on about time of day, and analyze the location of the "reflection"...haha. Dude, the parts of the car that you see the "reflection" of a tree, sunlight (however slight) is being blocked by that very object reflecting, no matter what the angle.
If the tree weren't there, there'd be direct light. More light would equal our viewing pleasure.
I mean, come on. Direct sunlight can be seen on top of my car in my sig. That is what it would look like with nothing in the way.
Look at the hood. There's a "reflection" as you'd say. Yet, it's darker. Why? There's enough tree/leaf mass from that angle, that the same amount of light that is reaching the roof isn't getting to the hood.
