Default Car held up well. The occupants were more or less unhurt.

That took place during Car and Driver's One Lap of America, IIRC.

Default another viper crash...

Buddy just forwarded this to me today.

<a href="http://www.dariusrudis.com/videos/vipercrash.mpeg">Right click to download MPEG to your computer.</a>

It's ancient. Not nearly as spectacular.

This kind of thing is why I am having a 4-point hoop with cross braces welded into my little toy car. It's not quite a cage, but it can't hurt.

Default OMG. During the event? Not so great for PR, eh?

The guy is going in a straight line, right? Was there a blowout or something?

Default Yeah, those things may feel like rattletraps from behind the wheel, but they have pretty...

...stout body structures.

I don't remember the cause, but the mag covered the crash in its article a few months ago.

Default Yeah, that was my thought too...

That would be something like a oops-brake-hoses-popped-off kind of failure. I mean, there doesn't seem to be much braking going on there.
