Default I use touchless automatics all the time. I only use a couple that I know of that don't use

metal tire guides. They use laser or IR to measure the cars position in the bay so there are no obstructions on the ground whatsoever. So tires/rims and ground clearance are of absolutely no concern.

It's just too cold in the winter to be out washing it by hand and it needs to be cleaned way to often. I'd rather wash the dirt off with an automatic more often than leave it dirty and have someone rub up against it creating scratches.

Default

find a detail shop that offers hand washes or go to a DIY spray bay.

Default Wicker Park...when I bought my condo, prereq #1 was that it had to have a covered space for my baby.

Although I do admit, sometimes I wish I would have spent that $50k elsewhere...

Default that is precisely why I don't live in a LARGE city....

That being said, for $7.75 (Bay Area Rapid Transit) I can enjoy hundreds of bars in SF, all the amenities of SF, and still have my car safely parked, and access to either washing the car myself, and or having my local carwash do it for me.
