Default Are we supposed to let our cars warm up?

In the mornings or after a couple hours of not driving, I let my car warm up for 3 min. Is this necessary or not.

Default warm up? no. it's a good idea to let the engine drop to normal idle before driving off...

imho

Default I do not go over 4K RPMs until the temp gauge points straight up

It is not necessary to let it idle until complete warm up.

Default Let it warm up for a minute and then drive easy until

its fully warmed up. Its not good for your car to let it just sit there and idle. When the engine is cold, you get uneven heating in the motor, and you can get the condensation of combusion by-products (combining to form weak acids) on cold cylinder walls that can slowly eat away. Not if you do it once or twice, but if idling like that is a practice you follow repeatedly for a long period of time. Better to idle for a minute and then drive easy till fully warm. This is something I read a long time ago, and scientifically it makes some sense.

Default Start it up and drive right away....

Just take it easy on load and rpm till she is warm. Does not take our cars long to get that needle standing straight.

Read the manual. It is quite succinct on this subject.
