and I forgot just how much fun those cars can be. I should first state that I've always been biased towards the B5 body style so I'm not exactly a nuetral party. I could never put my finger on just exactly what it was that's missing for me with my B6, but I guess it's simply the "fun factor". I think our cars are so civilized and so smooth that it detracts somewhat from the experience of driving it. If you're driving this car everyday and driving family around or driving clients around etc., then the B6 is a tremendous package. In my case, I'm not using this car for any of those things and I should have recognized that before I ordered it 3 years ago this month. Don't get me wrong, I really like this car and do enjoy driving it but I just don't get the rush that I was hoping it would give me. The couple mods have definitely helped, especially the DP's. I think the more aggressive RS4 probably makes up for some of this. On the positive side, the drive in the B5 did make me appreciate how nice our interiors feel. First thing I noticed was how much more of a cockpit, surrounding type feel there is in the B6. The B5, while nice, just felt a little squared off to me, for lack of a better description. I really feel wrapped in the B6, probably helped by our great seats. In hindsight, I think that personally, I would have been better off finding a B5 and taking it stage 3. Oh well, live and learn.

but the b6 body style immediately killed the possibility of me picking up a b5. the b6 body style is that much superior in aesthetic beauty to me.

I'm not sorry that I did. Went from no warrenty with the B5 to 4 years with the B6, at this point 15 more months of coverage. That having been said, I still miss that kick in the butt when the turbo's spooled up. I guess that my S days may be winding down as I don't need a $50,000 car to drive to work and if I were to spend that much cash I would like more room.

I always remember something that a guy posted on AW years back, something to the effect of the money is already gone, you're not going to get it back, so either sell now and cut your losses or keep the car and continue to lose money.
I almost have this thing paid off too which makes it even harder to consider selling.
I'm going to look at a Avus Silver RS4 that is due in next week but I don't think that's the direction I want to go right now. I've yet to see one in person, so I at least want to go check it out.

I agree, as I had a 2000 S4 and now an '05. The B5 seemed lighter, and in a strange way, quicker, when the turbos kicked in. I also preferred the all-red light panel. Both manual trans.. Just a comment.
