What are the advantages or disadvantages of going with a NA V8 vs. a Turbo engine in the B6 S4?

most likely 500 to 600 lbs more weight to drag around on the S4.

STI just more raw. Came over a crest and the engine hit around 3000 rpm the the thing took off. fun but scarey. The S4 is so linear. Much more so than my current s4b5. Subaru can not compare in fit and finish and comfort etc. but at 15 grand less alot of bang for buck even though you much pay much more attention to driving with STI.

I wanted to sell my WRX for the same reasons you list and love my S4. The best thing about the V8 is that it has power all over the place and you don't have to wait for the boost. Power is there in any gear at any rpm. While the WRX was comparably quick off the line if you kept the revs up, in day to day driving the S4 is a much more powerful car.

if you love driving a well built car with a solid feel of control and road. I have come to find the S4 without compare. Do not get me wrong I cut my AWD teeth on an Outback and have not gone back to FWD/RWD cars, but I am having a hard time seeing the B5 in the B6 in how they drive. The depth of power seems unlimited and I continue to look for gears 7 and 8. I do miss the mileage of the B5, this under 20 mpg is different. Power has it's price

as jet jockey stated below. I can tell you that there is a difference in the AWD drive system and myself, my sister, and my dad over the weekend all could feel it. There is not a big difference but the powershift in the audi appears to be a little more graceful, also i believe that the audi can shift based on lesser % of power, where as the subaru has less.

a lot of people and is a excellent car for the price. Just too raw as people said and you have to like "big scoop", pink logos, blue seats.
