Default What is the deal with the liner inside the fenders?

How can you clean the crap off this thing. I spent an hour on it w/ a tough brush trying to get the mud and other stuff off only to realize that there is more stuff on it. This thing is like velcro. Is there any way to remove it? I live in So Cal and I cannot imagine what you guys go through in the winter in the Midwest etc. w/ worse weather than ours trying to keep your cars clean.

Default Probably not worth thorough cleaning, just rinse it

Primary purpose is to cut down on road noise I believe (sand/rocks flying up and hitting inside there)

I use a pressure washer and it works great.

Just rinse; it's coated with a sound-deadening material and you don't want that removed.

Default 2nd. You can also "protect" that plastic by using any plastic/rubber protectant

Spray some of whatever you use on plastic on there (something like 303 Aerospace Protectant would work really well). As long as the product isn't silicone-based, it shouldn't "attract" any dirt.

A lot of car show participants will detail wheel wells with a product like Armor All Tire Foam, since you just spray it on and leave it. Thats what I do whenever I have the wheels off (once in spring, once in fall when swapping wheels). Scrub with a tough brush and regular car wash soap, then spray Tire Foam all over the plastic.

You'd be surprised how much better the car looks when you do it.
