Default What is the Difference Between the LaBree and Milltek ...

downpipes? From what I could find on the web, the Labree is a 300 Cell Cat and the Milltek is a 200 Cell Cat.

Default Another difference is...

ones been on the market for 2 years, the other for only several months. The composition of the pipes is similar, both use Stainless and the clamp types are different. I believe LaBree uses a flange type joint where the Milltek uses a reverse fitted joint (male & female ends)

Default Yes, it's more raspy.

It all comes down to personal preference.

You can add DP's from Labree or Milltek, to your Milltek system.

You can customize the Labree differently to have more subtle deep tones or the raspy, old American Muscle sound.
I've heard a few different LaBree's up close and personal now and compared to my Milltek, is just a different sound.

More bubbly, I guess is one way to describe it.

I'd love to see some stock vs. DP/CB dyno's from each as I wonder how the Milltek DP/CB set up compares power wise.

I prefer the sound of the Milltek, but I wonder what the numbers are for both, full back systems.

off to the Hollywood insanity........that is Cold Case.

Default Re: Another difference is...

Do you think there could be a qualitative difference in performance and reliability between the two?

Default Labree vs. Milltek

It's important to note that while the Labree B6S4 exhaust is newer than the Milltek, exhaust systems are not new to Labree. They've been doing this for years. They were innovative in their B5 design and the quality of Labree's product appears to accell above some others. They've learned from their competitor's exhaust system designs and by their reasoning, come up with a design that makes more power than anyone else. This has yet to be proven. Milltek also makes a great piece. I've narrowed my choices down to these two systems. Soon, one of them will be on my car.

Labree's cats do have a higher cell count but are a larger diameter than anyone elses. Again, whether that translates into a better flowing exhaust has yet to be determined.

Default Yea, from the sound clips, the two res does sound louder and a bit more "raspy"...

than the Milltek res. But I think that the four res sounds very warm and more muted like the Milltek res. No raspiness there.

Default They have at least one thing in common

Owners of each are happy with their purchase. I've heard very little in the way of negatives. I don't think you can go wrong either way.
