Are they the same and they are just adding the S4 tag to make it appear different. One is from EPI and the other is from VAG

The top one is S4 style in regards to its graphite finish on the grill but it is a black finish on the grill surround instead of chrome. The bottom one looks like a standard blackout grill.

here are the differences:
- the mesh: in the A the vertical bars go over the horizontal ones, while it's the opposite for the S
- the colour: one is black (A) while the other is grey-ish (S)...

if you want to go the black-out way i'd suggest going the S way, but you'll also need the lower bumper grille... so that you end-up with something like this...

in his pics folder of a drive he went on, and he told me it was just a blacked out grille.

I KNEW something was different and told him it appears as if there's more of a contrast between the chrome and the black, and I was guessing the A4 had the grill painted.

I'd definitely go with the A4 grill up top if I were to black out the top (if it fits ,which I think it does). i know this may not bother some, but it would bother me... remember that although you can swap the hood grilles btw the A's and the S's, the same cannot be done with the lower bumper grilles as they're not of the same size...

i wanted a black S grille, not the grey-ish, but since that's the only one available i went with it... i got used to it... but it's true that i also run the black A one in the summer...

Yes, I know. I already have the "greyed out" lower grill. I'll end up painting both I believe.
