Default Kind of an inverse of hybrid behavior.

The hybrids do much better in town, where the electric motors take over. These cars do MUCH better at, uh, let's say *highway* speeds where they can cover some ground running at moderately low RPM. Unfortunately for me, around town is not going to be pretty. It'll sound awesome, though.

Default I read somewhre (here?) that these cars can adapt to 87 octane gas.

What dya think? Kind of like those snake fish crawling out of the water and breathing air between puddles. Will these cars take it? Poor little computers might go crazy.

Default You bought a high-performance car, dammit!

Why the heck would you feed it 87 octane and have the computer retard the timing all the way into "limp" mode?!

For me, assuming the fuel price won't go WAY higher than it is now, the gas will cost around $400 per year more than it did last fall. Switching to 87 octane would reduce that by around $165 per year - not worth it IMO. YMMV.

Default Golf? Definitely.

Just right now there is so much going on I can barely get out for my lunchtime run these days (and only a couple times a week at that). It's difficult enough just the keep the puppy from peeing in the kitchen. And I'd like to find out why my car is telling me to check its engine and get my (evil) coilovers installed. June for sure. I like get out for golf once a week during the late spring/summer/early fall. Seems unlikely this year.
