Default what r your thoughts on the VW mk5 GTI w/ dsg.....? little long..

Not sure if I am seriously considering this Yet.. but with the recent purchase of a house and the always expensive cost of LA nightlife I have been toying with the idea of checking out a Vdub... obviously this car doesn't compare to our S's but they look pretty cool.. DSG, xenon's, recaro style buckets... and 25-36 miles per gallon! compared to my whopping 12 mpg.(i go through about 2 tanks a week)

Just looking for feedback as to whether I am crazy here. I figure in the long run it might make sense to take a step back and save now until I move further into my career and can afford a RS5/RS6 in 2010!

I honestly don't think I could part with the S but it might be the 'smart' thing to do. THanks for the input in advance -

Default I like the VW mk5 GTI but I would get a 6 MT

someone here went from a S4 to a GTi - of course he ended up modding it a LOT (so much for saving money) - as i recall he didnt keep it long. the DSG cost like $2000 isnt it?

we are ordering one as a third car.

Default Sweet car.

I've had the same thoughts given that my warranty is almost up and I could use a hatch for the dag. And with a chip the car is no slouch. But I'm undecided... Get the mk5 or get a certified A3 with the 2.0T and DSG...? Then, if I'm gonna do without Quattro (until RS5 or RS6), why not the Mazdaspeed3?

But the biggest problem is: I love my car. Best car in the world for me.

Default I'm with you..

I love this car so much. as far as mazda... I need to stay german. and I like the Vdubb over the A3 bc its more bang for my buck imho. and looks better too.

I don't know if I can give up the sound of this v8!
