Default What's a failing water pump sound like on our cars?
I suspect that's what I am hearing. It's a repetitive clicking noise, definitely coming from outside the front of the engine, passenger side.

Planning to replace the serpentine belt and water pump, but want to make sure it's not possibly something else, since it will be at least 6 hours of work to get this done.

I have had mine replaced twice and it was leaking before I heard anything in both instances.

I used to have a repetitive clicking noise coming from the engine too. Went away when I changed the serp belt. For what its worth.
