Zymol's is excellent. Used it on AMG and Porsche wheels without problems. It sprays on and is relatively thick and gel-like so it stays on. Smells good too. Just don't clean your wheels in your driveway because all that brake dust will stain.
I've been tempted to try Griot's wheel cleaner as it costs a bit less.

Get it by the galon it works great and better yet it smells good.
However Im about to finish my test with photos and a writeup, I've managed to eliminate 90% of the brake dust on my wheels and I drive a ton. Ive been trying a few different combinations of products for over a month now with great results on my wheels.

My "GO TO" choice is Einzette 1Z Wheel Cleaner. It's silicone free, acid free, near ph balanced cleaner which, if you wax your wheels to keep the brake dust from sticking (and you should-inside and out) it won't strip it off. Most others will. Bottle lasts a long time, too.
Many...actually MOST wheel cleaners are very harsh, overly so. The best ones are not acidic, naturally, and will not harm wheels, but they still can strip off wax which you don't want. Most of us don't let our wheels get dirty enough to need super strong cleaners.
Wet the wheels first. Spritz the wheels with cleaner. (Don't let it soak for minutes as suggested. No need) Use a FOAM ended bottle brush and wipe the inside of the wheel. Use a foam sponge on the outside of the wheel. Rinse. 2 minutes a wheel. Do your wheel wells with the bottle brush while your there!

? I haven't been doing that. I just spray the stuff right now, and sometimes if I wait for than 60 seconds it's hard to scrub off, so I use a little water.
Also, I've been using a brush...I think it's much easier with a large sponge, no?
