Where 2 Buy? B5 S4 Aluminum Side Mirror Housings
I would like to buy a set of B5 OEM (or equivalent) polished aluminum side mirror housings, only need the housings. Anyone know where I can get these, I have looked online and only see them on ebay occassionally.

You better check again. They have been using Plastic chrome-like mirrors since mid 04 production
The originals were metal, new production has been metal looking plastic. Look similar but they are not metal, its just a coating.

Just checked my friends car two blocks away, his is an 05 and also has metal. Perhaps
they had shipped them without for a few months then went back to the metal ones. My car was produced in 08/04.

Perhaps, the metal mirrors are again being used. Some mid production 04 owners had been complaining
about their's being plastic. Maybe the metal ones were not available at one time or Audi recieved complaints and brought back the metal mirrors? What a bummer for those with the plastic mirrors. How do you know they are metal?
I mean, they look pretty much the same... The only way I knew mine were plastic (built 3/04) was to compare them side-to-side against very early-built car.
