Default Wow--that is a HUGE weight loss. And identical/similar cranking power, I hope?

I would definitely be down for that---can you provide us a model number and source, like Schuck's/ Kragen, some online source, etc?

Danke schein!

Default Wait a minute--something is amiss here; that must be a vastly different model..this

listing puts 'our' battery at roughly 60lbs. Which model is that, then? Obviously goes to a different application. Question becomes at that point, longevity. Is it being asked to do something for a model it was not intended? And again, of course, similar cranking power?

Default Same cold cranking if I remember correctly, as it was a big deal to have a battery of equal reliabil

pc680 should be the model of it.

Default That is 680 cranking amps for 5 seconds

That isn't even Cold Cranking Amps, those are only 220 cold cranking amps.

My OE replacement is 850 Cold Cranking. Very important on days like today when it's 3 degrees out.

With our starting problems, I wouldn't run this battery in the winter.

Default Yep. I think the battery is made by Johnson controls, and the same is offered at Walmart for $80.

Different name, but after I buoght mine I looked at the Walmart brand, and they looked exactly alike.

Given the current temp here (5 degrees) I'm glad I stayed with a full size battery.

Agreed. The weight loss isn't worth it. We need the CC amps.

Default That is significant. Had not considered that. I agree--not truly worth the weight savings.

One really good cold morning and you're probably hosed.

Default I went through winter in Colorado with it, and never had an issue, let alone a hessitation...

Think about it, how many seconds does a car turn over before starting? .5-1 sec. If its doing it for more then 5 sec you have issues.

Also I have used it in below 0 conditions, outside over night, not in a garage, and started just fine.

However, if it still does not do it for you they do offer a battery twice the size, so still significant weight savings.
