Was approaching a stop light the other day and had to make a left but then a quick right to get on the highway. There were two left turn only lanes, but natually the one furthest to the right was long since everyone is planning to make the same quick right to get on the highway. The one to the left was empty.
I was with two buddies, both of whom wanted to see the car and take it for a quick spin. I didn't say anything and pulled into the empty left turn lane, firguring I can at least get to the onramp quickly and have a bit of fun.
I come up to the light and look over to my right and the guy is driving the new Mazda 6 with what I can only assume is the bigger engine. He is a young guy and he glanced at me but that was it. I didn't think much of it until five seconds later.
When the light goes green he guns it, pulls out about two car lengths ahead of me. I smiled to myself, switched into second gear and mashed the pedal. We had about two hundred yards to the exit. I pulled in front of him about 50 yards before the on ramp(no problem, was like he was standing still). To make things worse, I just kept it pegged on the onramp, reaching about 160 Kmhr. Just when we were about to merge on the higway my buddly looks back laughing and says "I can barely see him, he's just a speck..."
