Default WTF, is wrong with this freaking car!

I just went outide to move the car into the garage and my instrument cluster told me I have a right tail light out, again!

I just changed that bulb about a 1.5 ago. I have done nothing in the past month and a half but change bulbs all over this car.

I've had the car since it was brand new and up until then none of the bulbs blew. But now I can't stop them from going out.

Do we know what could be causing this in our cars?

Default Seems to be a common issue w/ B6s & B7s

I've had to replace 1 brake light bulb in each of my B6s and am aware of a few B7s with similar stories. In each case it seems to be the right hand rear bulb..

Given the small cost of the bulbs and the fact it only takes 5 minutes I don't mind doing it every other year.. ; - )

Default This is happening on a bi-monthly basis, not yearly.

in the past 2 months I've had to replace my both rear tail lamps, license plate bulbs, last week I replaced my city light bulb. Now tonight my right rear tail lamp is out again, which I just changed 2 months ago.

Default

Is the computer pretty good at detecting them or should I do monthly walk-arounds to be sure?

Is the bulb "no good" or are you getting a false reading? Check out the bulb, go from there.

Default Could be the circuit board. I had this problem before, kept swapping out bulbs.

Finally had dealer look at it and turned out the board was faulty.

Default waaaaaaaaaaa, I blew a few .50 bulbs, waaaaaaaaaaaa

Clean(zero residue contact cleaner)and rebend (tiny bit)the center(+)bulb contact with lights off.

Dirty or poor contacts can cause early bulb failure.
Takes 2 seconds to do when you change a bulb next.

Default Your car spends some time close to the ocean, clean the contacts

May not solve it but like s4for5 says, contact corrosion is a common cause.
