Default XM Activation

I did a search but seems like my situation is unique... I installed a euro RNSE with US software. I can listen to the XM preview but when I go to the settings page to find out the serial number of my unit, it's blank. Will VAG tell me the serial number?

thanks in advance

Default Depends on what XM box you have....

There were two XM receivers, (part numbers were off by one letter) ones that can use RNS-e and ones that cant. Sounds like you may have one of the older XM units that was not intended for use with RNS-E Navigation.

Check out the navplus forum.

(this is strait from navplus.us)
SAT RADIO receivers: North America only
8E0 035 593/8E0 057 593 Sirius without RNS-E and without tire pressure monitoring system
8E0 035 593 A/8E0 057 593 A XM without RNS-E and without tire pressure monitoring system
8E0 035 593 D/8E0 057 593 D Sirius for RNS-E and/or with tire pressure monitoring system, works with Concert/Symphony as well

Default Yep it sounds like he has an "A" box not an "E" box.

E box is the only XM receiver that will work with RNS-E Navigation.

The A box will only work with one station, and its the last station that box was tuned into before the swap.
