Default XM Sat Rcvr Finally Arrived!

Got an email from my dealer today. Been waiting since Aug 21st. Hope XM Sat service is worth the $350 I'll be paying (AoA waived the labor charge for the install).

Default Your dealer should install it for the 350, thats what the port does...

It should be no different from a port install if you ordered the info package. If they try and charge you labor then call AoA and bitch becuase that is not right!!!!

Default Oh of course. They will definitely install for free.

However, I don't want to go back down to BH Audi in October like I have planned.

So, can any of you guys watch them install it to see how difficult it is do to yourself? I'd like them to just ship it up to me and do it myself if possible.

Default As long as your car is wired properly it shouldnt even take any thought....

it should just pop right in. Sia since you got your car early I would suggest the drive down just in case.

Default You know what I'll do?

I'll call up my salesman ask him if they'd install it for free after I try and see I can't install it myself. If they would, I'll have him ship it up to me.

What do you think? That's a win win situation..

Default Yea sounds reasonable....

any good dealer would do no less. Especially since you have to drive to get to them.

Is xm offering 3 months free w/ activation charge waived cause that's what sirius is offering? (save $53.85 total--12.95 per month plus $15 activation fee)

Default from what my dealer told me they have to plug in the receiver and "re-code" the radio. they told me

to allow 1 hours worth of labor.

although, they admitted this will be their first and they are allowing extra time.

if indeed the radio needs re-coded in order to recognize the sat, that is a VAG-COM job and wont be a DIY
