Have 19" 255-35 tri-spokes. Looking for winter tires & wheels.

Audi is offering a package through dealers: A 5 spoke 18" wheel w/Dunlop Winter Sport 3D 245/40/18 tires for $2450 preseason.

1) Using this tire comparator http://www.discountpartcenter.com/tirecalc.html it looks like a 255-40/18 would create -0- speedo difference. Any observations about this?

2) Tires: I've had positive experience w/Bridgestone Blizzak. What experience do you have w/winter tires; also contrast performance vs ice/snow profiles, i.e. when are the latter recommended?

3) Wheels: Since these are for winter, I'm not looking for the hottest looking & am inclined towards a non-chrome, perhaps a black finish. Tire rack has a number of lower-priced wheels such as the Rial Nogaro. Observations/comments?

4) I disocvoered usarim.com that had a number of reasonably priced wheels w/an Audi logo on center cap. Any experience w/these folks?

If you feel you need 18" winter tires/wheels, I would check tire rack and pick the tires and wheels that work the best for you.

If you search for "winter tires" there are a ton of threads. I am researching this topic at the moment (great thing to do on a 90 degree day) as well. I ran Dunlop M3s on my last 2 cars (STI and B6 S4) but am undecided on what to put on the B8.

Here's a good summary for winter tires from tire rack. The entries that are bolded are available in S4 stock 18 size (245/40/18).

I went with Black Matte VMR 710's and dunlop snows. Couldn't love them more...
