I have a 9 month old and find the S4 to be quite spacious and accommodating. Easy to get the baby seat in and out and tons of leg room for me and the front passenger. I mounted seat in the middle. I also get a lot of comments on how large the trunk is. In fact the trunk has more cargo space than my brothers Infinit FX37. For now the S4 is fine but if we have another kid I may consider something larger. Then again I guess my wife can get the larger car! When her RDX goes I'd like to get her into a Toureg or Q5.

There is no way I would get rid of my 2011 S4, so I just added the 2012 Q7 to the stable. But if I had only one to choose, I would have to go with the Q7...much more convenient.

I am 6' 4" and I need to drive with the seat all the way back. Traveling with kids are like packing for a vacation every time we leave our home. The S4 is a fun car but doesn't work for me anymore.
Wow, you must have a lot of stuff to haul around with the kids. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 month old and we fit in the car with room to spare. Wife has a passat wagon that is absolutely cavernous which we take on extended road trips, but rarely do we find the S4 lacking space with 2 adults and 2 car seats. I'm not a small guy either at 6'0 185lbs.
Good luck with your trade! I hope you find something that suits your needs and enthusiasm for cars.

I am about to get rid of my 2010 Audi S4 Premium and settle for more of a baby wagon, any recommendations?
I just posted the car on lease busters with only $16000K. I have to get rid of it but I need a larger vehicle. Also, does anyone know if a redesign Q7 will be out soon?

There is absolutely no need for an SUV. Don't let your wife dictate your ride. I agree the more room you have the more junk you bring along. I have two active children travel hockey and get by using my GTI for both sets of equipment with four in the car. Too bad the S wasn't a hatchback. If really have to make the change I personally would steer clear of an SUV and go for an A7. Anyway that my 2 cents......

I rode in the new A7 3.0T last night, nice comfortable car, much larger than the S4, but it does not look large, definitely wider though. The rear hatch has easy access ( & fancy controls). The car is fairly light, for it's size (considering the S4 weight). It would probably drive better than a SUV/CUV.
