You want flash, ie, wings, bling & things, get a Scoobie, or an EVO or a Honda, etc, etc, save 10 grand +.
This ain't about 'how fast you look' but 'how fast you go'!

In their minds, if they dealers can't sell them, Why import them. A better philosophy might be Avant "by order only!"

Attorneys, bankers, physicians spending $100K driving their M5 or RS6 to the office don't want to look like they are driving their high school kid's car .

Buyers in their 20s/30s in US like cute utes and see wagons as granny mobiles , unfortunately.
Of course, it's not that way in Europe .
I'd take an RS6 Avant over sedan , if I lived in Europe.

...small utes are better why?? When SUV's were the rage, it was because of cargo space and perceived benefit of AWD. Making smaller ones helped those looking for less costly model with better MPG. But now, I see folks bolting for wagons all the time because: easier to get stuff on the roof rack. Now, I'm on Portland, OR where the Subie's are king and a roof rack is a necessity of life. Maybe the PacNW should secede and allow Audi to market to us appropriately. Or the US should allow imports from Canada. What a stupid system we have.

you know the type " little old ladies in tennis shoes " , very active in the community , would never consider climbing into a cute ute , cause her arthritis forbids it ...I could go on and on , but that is sure the stereotype I see in my neighborhood.
Remember that car board car nuts are NOT the vast majority of volume buyers all manufacturers need.

Put one on a typical Audi dealer's showroom floor ( after the first 100 are sold in the US to the " car guys" ) and see how long it sits . Like the A6 6MT " we" all clamored for and that dealers couldn't sell after a year in stock.
Local BMW dealer had a new 535 xi wagon they couldn't give away because it had a 6 speed manual and typical soccer mom driver said " no way ,Jose " .
