I was having issues with my 2010 S4 and ultimately they had to replace the Mechatronics module and update the software. My question is: is it possible that this would enable launch control on my car? I remember hearing that the 2010 owners were pretty much SOL when it came to LC but I was just curious since this was a pretty major hardware swap.
I am tempted to just try it but not knowing how it is supposed "feel" when I apply the gas with the brake on I don't want to push it and mess up my newly fixed transmission

@phil47 - That's what I was afraid of. Looks like no LC for me; there is definitely straining against the brakes when I set "ASR Off" and go to sport/manual mode (I don't have drive select or sport diff). Bummer.
@zulujams - The problems started around 33,000 miles. The main symptom was an unsettling "clunk" into first gear when starting from a stop. It seemed to be worse when on a slight uphill (and often start rolling back right away when I took my foot off the gas). It started very mild but it got progressively worse over the next couple thousand miles. I also noticed that the RPM needle was surging/bouncing quite a bit when I was cruising at constant speed (very bad at ~40 mph). By the time I was taking it in for the service it was very bad and made me cringe every time I took off! Now that it's fixed I find myself bracing for impact (that is no longer there) each time I take off![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
FWIW - This car was a "demo" car that had ~250 miles when I got it. It is a lease so I wasn't too concerned but I imagine it was flogged pretty good in those first miles. Might not be related but still...
