I'd go Monsoon with the upgraded titanium wheels. This will likely be my next S4. I love Daytona but can't see spending $3k on a different shade of grey.

Daytona is nice, I had it on my previous A6, but IMHO not worth $3000 over Monsoon. Daytona is ever so slightly darker and a bit more metallic. IIRC lava had a bit of a purple hue in some light. Not to my liking but to each his own.

Glad you finally figured out what was best for you. The only caveat would be that an Exclusive color COULD delay delivery for an indefinite time. It is hard enough to wait 9-12 weeks. But not knowing how long it will take (since exclusive colors are not built in the same time frame as stock colors) is a killer!

Excellent point. I fell victim to this which is why I had the A6 instead of my originally ordered Monza Silver B8 A4 I intended. It was severely delayed due to the paint color and they could not provide a delivery date. No regrets the A6 was great. I did get to see the Monza a few months later when I was in for some work at the dealer.(6 months after ordering.)

First time S4

I have also ordered an S4. Lava Grey, beaufort aluminum inlay, red/black leather interior. I prefered Daytona but was told it was unavailable (I live in BC) But $3K is ridiculous in my opinion. Monsoon was too close to the Mazda's that are everywhere. I passed on the change in rims and black trim - made is look like an A4 too much. preferred the aluminum mirror covers.
THe wait for 3 months is brutal. I am in the final home stretch, VIN number was just assigned...wish I could track it like a FEDeX package.

First time S4

does anyone have any guidance on the summer performance wheels the s4 comes with? Specifically how well do they adapt to rain.
I live on the west coast of British Columbia beautiful but wet in the winter and spring.

Attached are photos of my old 2012 and new 2014 Monsoon Grey S4's. I've been very happy with the color. It looks good with both the optic and non-optic packages. The silver bits stand out a bit with the the Monsoon Grey non-optic package (but not too much

I am biased, now that I have it: Get almost any color you want for the exterior; but spring for the Lava Red Leather seats.

We have two 2014 S cars, SQ5 and S4 -- SQ Panther Black, S4 Ibis White; we ordered them both with the Lava seat covers.

We enjoy the cars and the seat (colors) immensely -- however, the compliments from total strangers on the seats just keep on coming. Get what YOU want obviously, but the red leather seems to be what these seats were designed to be covered in.

I saw the metallic white exterior color -- didn't think I'd think much of it. Changed my mind -- now I wish I had ordered it.

My white S4 vs my wife's black SQ. Hers shows all dirt all the time, almost. Mine seems to stay clean longer (perception is reality.)

Panther black is beautiful (almost looks like metallic purple under certain lights), but hard to keep clean.

Same seems to be true of most of the dark colors -- but when they ARE clean, they are magnetic! Metallic silver with the red leather, too, looks like it would be very attractive and pretty much stay clean longer, too.
