Had my windows tinted out yesterday...5% all around (i.e. Limo tint). I know a lot of you probably think it's too dark or that I'm asking for trouble, but I love it. 3 cars ago I did a 35% tint and always wished it was darker. 2 cars ago did 20%, still wanted darker. Last car did 15%...again wished it was darker, SO I went as dark as possible with the S4. Even in broad daylight it's actually hard to tell the windows apart from the body panels and I think that looks just great.
Next mod, hopefully within the next couple of weeks, will be Matte Black VMR V710s and also plan on putting a moderate tint on the tail lights. Not worried about safety as our LED tail lights are SO bright I think a light/moderate tint would still keep the lights nice and bright to people behind me.

The way I see, since any tint at all on the fronts is illegal here so they're either going to pull you over for them or they're not, no matter how dark. Most people out here do tint cause of the heat, so I think the cops kinda just let it slide. Same with the front plates out here...it's illegal to not have them but most nicer cars don't have them. Again, I haven't either and cops never say a thing. I'll just continue to be super polite to them when pulled over and hopefully they'll continue to go easier on me = )

What are you trying to hide from the outside? You're seriously asking your car to be a police magnet, another reason to pull you over. How do you drive at night and in bad weather?

Love the look. Just be careful and learn how to use your side mirrors!
It is sunny like 350 days a year here. There are only like 3 foul weather days.
My 35% is not dark at all - you can see right into the car. I could have easily gone 20% if that sort of thing mattered to me. I went to Signature Glass in Costa Mesa to get this special ceramic film called Wincos. They charged $350, whereas my Huper Optik was $550.
