yeah, that will just happen with a big enough sample size.
I have heard of two different well running S4s that failed within a month of getting revo tuned. i.e. needed a new engine type of failed. As you guys know, I have no dog in this 3.0T race, so as an impartial outside observer, that's a bit odd to me and needs to be investigated. Get a look at Tsivas' thread where he posted the mapped logged parameters for all the tunes. He posted it on audirevolution...maybe AZ too. Incredible.
I really hope that trend doesn't continue. We had a REVO tuned guy at the dragstrip with us in April and he was so quick he was scared to run anymore out of fear of causing damage. Another REVO guy at a local dyno event had great results, but mentioned that he also had some problems he was trying to work through (trying to navigate TD1 etc.).
It's like the old saying...if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

however, with that said i feel i have a solid team behind my car on everyday driving, i baby the car, keep it garage kept, hand wash it every week but that of course isn't going to stop a failure. i do feel as if that since all these upgrades are out there, that we have not reached the limit yet. if we only use parts and caution, if you haven't seen any issues yet, you are fine. plus, im sure APR is testing it quite a bit and if they feel the engine will need new internals then that might be included in the early parts of stage 3. - id rather pay 3k to upgrade a 500 internal part than an entirely new engine because something might break
