I have the adaptive lights in my 2008 A6 and I don't care for them. Since the projector lens is mounted on a swivel it tends to noticeably shake more than my old B5 S4 or my B7 A4 which both had standard (non-adaptive) xenons.

For myself...not worth the step up to Prestige for sure...

As others mentioned...marginally useful on very dark long windy back roads, but not terribly functional if there is other ambient lighting like street lights or other traffic.

At least that is my 2 cents. :-)
