So I posted earlier about my 2011 dsg making a weird noise and almost stuttering in 1st gear while rolling in traffic....the noise was kind of like a paper bag whoosh if that makes any sense....I started using the dsg more and the noise and stuttering started going away but was still evident in reverse, quite loud actually.....so I took it to service...make a long story short.....last update is they're waiting to get clearance to do the transmission....obviously, this is appalling....im sure this is gonna require me getting in contact with AoA about what bs this is....just wondering if anyone had any advice on how to handle this.....currently leasing by the way.....thanks!
Its a custom order so telling the dealer to get me a new one, if I can even do that, would be tough.....this blows!

I wouldn't be too concerned about it, honestly. It's only the second time I have heard anyone saying they had to have a tranny swap, the first was a very early '10 customer who I later got to know. He took delivery in Oct of 09, and had to have a new one after taking it in for leaking ATF fluid 3 times, they swapped it with one flown in from Germany and he drove over 60K miles on the replaced on before trading his S4 in last week on a 2008 RS4.

so you're seeing a rs4 in my future?!....nice!...maybe im just pissed because its like getting a refurbished item at the price of new....not a good feeling just knowing she's in the shop and may be getting all this work done....

I had a tranny failure on a Honda before when the car only had 1,000 miles on it. I got a brand new tranny (not rebuilt) and they also doubled the drivetrain warranty for me. Maybe ask Audi if they can do the same?

Yea it will be a brand new one from the factory, not a refurb If you are really stressed about it pressure them into extending your powertrain warranty to 100K miles, and I bet they will.

wouldn't sweat it. It's a lease! Just make sure you get compen$ated for time taken to deal with this and time out of your car by AOA. Powertrain warranty sounds reasonable but you are leasing so it probably would not benefit you as much as the next owner (if at all).
