Makes sense to me. Why spend the time to install these in the factory, since the cars are covered for protection during the boat trip, then uncovered and cleaned (to remove salt, etc) after port arrival. This ensures a clean surface to wash without having to detail around little emblems. Slap them on at the port (or dealer if I had to say so) and on the rail or truck to delivery at dealership.


BTW - losing the V6T is cake, many MANY of us have already done this for the Supercharged badges.

When you order your new 2011 S4,have your dealer specify option SSC and the V-6 badges will be replaced with the supercharged emblems. There are a bunch of port installed options available like winter mats,aluminum look kit, etc. The port will then generate a new window sticker with the added options. In my opinion, the S/C badges should be standard. I hate the v-6 insignia on a 400 horse car.
