Not entirely true.

Jaguar has what they call "Suedecloth" headliners, which are the same stuff made by someone else (like you cannot call it a Band-aid unless it's made by that brand owner).

Ferrari also has Alcantara, and I believe Lambo's do as well.

I believe some Aston's also do Alcantara on the headliner but I could be wrong. I know they do the dash cover.

Ah, that's true, I know the Ferraris and Lambos have it too. The headliner is a pretty cool touch. Interesting to compare here that for the mid 50's you can easily get a 2006 997 C4S. Hell of a car. Not quite as practical as the S4, but you do get the Alcantara headliner.

I'm thinking MF would be a great material to use -- easy to clean!?

The link below was posted by me some time ago. It might give you an idea about how to accomplish a custom job. In my replies to other posts down the page I provide the part number of the Alcantara used and the vendor where I bought it. I put a lot of time and effort and finally found the exact material used by Audi in our S4's.

That's something you'd need to get custom upholstered. I'm getting my headliner and pillars done in alcantara suede. I'll have pics at the end of the month.
