Default anyone developing a replacement supercharger kit?

I wonder what someone like VF engineering could do, given this:

What could VF Engineering do?

Well, first they'd need to replace your small V6 with a V8...and make it RWD if you want anything like the M3 experienced there.

Then they'd need to undo 5 years of disasters supercharging Audis. They have been laughed out of the Audi world for their Eaton M90 supercharger kits that they tried to sell for $10,000 for the 4.2 S4 and RS4. The kits added maybe 50-60 bhp to the already high VE Audi NA engines. In races vs. cars with just exhaust and tune mods, the VF cars couldn't pull. At the dragstrip the cars ran 12.5-12.6 @ 110...which is funny considering the all motor record was 12.70 @ 111. Pathetic kits. The JHM kit on the other hand pushed the B6/7 into the 11s as did the APR RS4 kit.

I just really hope you guys get a TVS1900 kit. Never mind the 1650. If you're spening around $10,000-15,000 (or more) for a stage III setup, why go with a small bump to the 1650? Go big. I bet the 1650 is only good for 40-60 whp over the 1320. Hardly seems worth it. It will still be shy of the limits of your engines stock internals so I reckon. The 1900 will push the car to/past the limit so it will be a great choice.

Arin has said the APR Stage III kit for the 3.0TFSI will be considerably less than the RS4 kits.

Problem with the TVS1900 is size. I don't believe it will physically fit without some sort of hood modifications at the very least. The 1650 is the same size as the 1300 but longer I think. In any case, I doubt I'd be doing any of that until I'm well out of warranty (if then) and by then I'm hoping we'll have multiple offerings to choose from and any of the early kinks will have ironed themselves out.

Yes, the packaging is the same for the 1650, the screws are longer (and the associated length of the casing of course) to give the additional .330 cubic L/rev of displacement.

So fellas if I decide to go APR Pulley with Version II ECU program I'm still well within the limits of what this engine can handle?

so it would make it a TVSr331320?

Anyway, there's always room. The 4.2 is so jammed in it looks like a credit card won't fit...yet JHM has made two very large turbos and the associated plumbing fit (after 7 years of being told it was impossible). They have also fit a gigantic Vortech V3 supercharger in there. There's always room.

APR said there was no room for the bigger TVS blowers on the B7 RS4...however AMD says they have a TVS1900 and TVS2300 kit already fitted during testing to a B7 RS4.

Thanks for catching that I missed the decimal, fixed.

I can confirm having seen this in person that it fits under the stock hood, though I have not seen it functioning

At their shop, they are a smallish independent developer based in Woodinville, WA. I was a the shop a few weekends ago for a dyno and GTG and Jason was kind enough to show a few of us under the hood. The screws were out of it, but it was definitely the 1900/2300 form factor.

I wonder if there is any opportunity to:

a) 'Port' the existing 1650. Being a TVS I would expect some of the inefficiencies in the M90 would have been worked out with respect to airflow on both ends but it is worth asking.

b) Overdrive the 1650 internally mechanically (vs. smaller pullies) as has been done historically in the 03/04 Cobras. (Steigemeier's Snake Bite kit). Understand the efficiencies and IATs may make that impractical. (Bigger displacement being superior to faster rotor speed)

c) Look at the stock throttle body as a possible source of restriction.
