I was told that my car would be arriving in RI port the week of Nov 7. My dealer told me that I would take delivery on the car on Nov 7, 2009. Has anyone else heard that their delivery would be arriving at this time?

While possible that is a pretty ambitous goal, if it arrives in port that day, they manage to get your car unloaded (which could be blocked in by any number of other cars on the boat, then on the truck, to the dealer, prepped and ready all in the same day. Don't get too excited, there is nothing that even says what time the ship will arrive and dock on the 7th and anything can happen.

The boat arrives in dock on Nove 4, 2009 and the dealer is willing to go pick up the car at the dock. The dealership is only a few miles from port. If that does not happen no big deal I will cancel my order.

You're cancelling your order if you don't get your car on November 7th?

I don't think so but its been so long that I am losing interest. I ordered that car in August when it was warm, now its colder and the snow is coming. I now this a AWD but I will not be driving the car in the winter, now having said that I could just wait a few more months, maybe.

I looked at the S5 and it’s a nice car but just as I was about to pull the trigger along came the S4 with its powerful V6 engine and great gas mileage and above all of that it’s a 4 door and when you have a 4 year old it is very convenient. Besides I had a BMW 645 which is very similar to the S5 and it was a pain getting the boy in and out of the back seat. Good point though.

S4's are great in the snow. My 2010 S4 is my replacement rocket ski car (rktskicar) for my 01.5 S4.
