Default Anyone want to test launch control with a GTECH PRO RR?

so I tried last week to test launch control in a 2011 B8 DSG...but it rained like a bastard so the test was aborted

anyone in the west end of toronto (mississauga to hamilton) with a 2011 DSG want to get together and do a Gtech Pro RR test to see how it works?

It'll only take 10-15 minutes and we can then have some neat graphs like the one Bruce posts up from his B5 days for everyone to get a really good look. It will also generate full 1/4 mile info including 60 foot, 330', 1/8th ET + trap, 1000', 1/4 ET and trap if you want to do that. I'm mostly interested in the first 60' though.

Can also generate a chart showing 0-20, 0-30, 0-40 all the way up till you stop accelerating so for those who wanted 0-60mph times, it'll be useful.

Me me me!

Oooh right. I got ****ed out of LC. If I had it we'd all have the data already.

Don't everyone volunteer at once.

Here are a couple charts. I'm gonna have to insist that this is a reliable method - just as good as GTECH or whatever. Unless we don't trust our speedometers/ECU, that is.

Notes:
- These are from VAG-COM (VCDS) logging, then charts in Excel.
- The difference between Launch Control and regular WOT was not large due to the fact that my 4 LC runs were first (cold engine), then I did the 4 regular WOT runs.
- You can see the LC starting point is at 3000 rpm.
- Note the speed is all in kph not mph.

sak- Unfortuneatly, my Gtech RR does not pick up the RPMs on my B8 S4 like it did on my B5 S4. I think the ignition is too quiet on the B8. The rest of the stuff should work though (60', 1/4 mi, 0-60, etc.).

So I tried the iPhone app called "Dynolicious". Really simple. Just had to bring a roll of masking tape to strap it down to my armrest. Hellovalot simpler than VCDS logging. If its consistent, I'll be switching over to this app. I'll shoot for some better runs than this.

This is with Launch Control, full weight car, full tank of gas, 200 lb driver, child seat and a turkey dinner in the trunk. Still launching in D (S) mode (not 3rd or 4th gear).

Mad, As always thanks for stepping up.... I assume you let off after the 1/8 thus the slow 1000 foot time and speed... I did expect a much better 60 ft time though to be honest.... Here are my best stock runs from the two times I visited the track stock for comparison....

DA 3035 Dragtimes - 320 miles on car - stock, 93 octane - ESP/ASR on
1.9050 60ft
5.5174 330ft
8.4460 1/8 mile
84.73 1/8 mph
10.9560 1000 foot et
13.0687 1/4 time
107.66 mph

Corrected

DA 1700 Dragtimes - 770 miles - stock, 93 octane - ESP/ASR off

8.2743 1/8 mile
85.51 1/8 mph

Yeah the intent was to get this app working. I'll improve the times.
