Audi MMI Map in 3D mode cuts off at the top?

I see that too. I think they are trying to simulate the look of the terrain going off into the horizon. Its like its showing a bit of the sky. i might be wrong, though....

yea seems like wasted space... when you use the center of the twist **** to move around the map it goes full screen... i'd rather have it full screen all the time!

The graphics processor is likely not powerful enough to render the entire screen in a zoomed-out 3D mode, so it uses the fog to hide the limited draw distance.

Yep, it's the horizon and simulation the curvature of the earth. The GPU in there is the nVidia Tegra, it can handle far more than the navi maps are able to tax it with.

I agree that it appears to be a waste of space. Also, when I bought Nav, I though 3D meant showing POI buildinngs (e.g. like the CN Tower in Toronto) but it doesn`t. Live and learn.
