For some folks it's apparently not obvious to upon delivery read the owner's manual cover-to-cover either.

It's birds eye view and IMO it's far superior to the standard 2d map view. I mean, how is it not obvious that you are viewing it from an angle?

As others have cited, in the 3-D view at lower magnifications (greater distance) the curvature of the Earth (horizon) is simulated. Zooming in utilizes the full screen.

The nVidia GPU is more than capable given the 7" screen.
Yes you need to be in a pretty major metro area to have city buildings rendered. I'm with Matt, I much prefer the 3D look down to 2D.

Philly is flooded with 3d buildings and almost renders the nav useless. Too many damn buildings in the way to see anything.

It is obvious. No question about that. Just as obvious is that at that perspective, the end of the earth is not where the fogged area is. If the perspective was from say, 40 feet above the road, I would buy it.

BTW, I like the plan view that looks like a map best. It shows more area than the short screen of the perspective. Less goofing around with the reverse operation of the mmi ****.

For a second I forgot why I don't post much around here. Thanks for reminding me.
