If you want color on your S4 or S5, it will cost you $475 atleast. Only Basic white and black incurrs no costs.

Oh, and brilliant RED is no longer available on S models, but is available on the A models (with N/C)

Interesting. On the R8 models, they're charging $650 for any of the "standard" colors. However, for the R8, Brilliant Red and Ibis White are no charge. And the S8 configurator shows no charge for any of the 6 listed colors. And for the S6, of the 11 colors available, only the Estoril Blue has a charge - $1075.

I wonder if the Audi Exclusive colors are still $2500.

Doesn't everyone do this now? So it's just a way to keep the "base" price as low as possible.

Another way to look at it is that it allows a small discount for people who really do prefer the basic colors and don't care for metallic and pearl finishes.

I thought the up-charge has been the norm from Audi (and other German companies). I recall the last Audi I purchased, MY08 Q7, the Phantom Black Metallic paint was a $450 adder. Only the flat paints (black or white) were "freebie's".

I don't mind paying the adder. I just wish there were more colors to select from vs. the standard black, white or gray/silver (without going to individual).

This is not new, as Audi has been charging extra for metallic and pearl effect colors for a long time. The only difference is that there is now one less non-metallic color.

ya, I did some research on that too and Brillian red is available on a few other models and never incurs a charge. I have yet to see a Volcanic or Misano Red. Brilliant Red is one of my reds on the street
