Default B8.5 S4 Aluminum Pedals for 6MT - photos inside

I got a package in the mail from Alex@Europrice today, so I thought I'd post up the goodies I got:

This is the aluminum pedal set for the facelifted S4 that is a direct fit on our cars. The old B7 RS4 set will work, but I've heard the brake pedal is a tad loose and can move around a small amount. I'll hopefully find some time to install these sometime soon, but they look great! The only downside is there is no matching dead pedal. I'll probably end up adding the RS5 dead pedal eventually even though it isn't a match with this pedal set unless Audi comes out with something better that is a direct fit. In any case, I'm happy with them and I'll post up pictures once I get them installed.

I wonder if these pedals are standard on the US B8.5 6MT S4?

The European DSG facelift S4 that Autoblog drove did not have any sort of metal pedals.

Finished up work early today and went ahead and installed these. Took around an hour, and sucked about as much as people have described for installation of the RS4 pedals. I used a small amount of detergent as lube, warmed the pedals up in hot water, and used a couple tools that you'll see below.

The brake pedal went on easily. Pull the sides out while sliding it up from the bottom and pushing the guide tab into the hole into the center.

The clutch was a bitch. I ended up using some very small vice grips and a screwdriver after heating up the rubber in hot water to make it more pliable. I got 3 corners on about 10 times before I finally figured out how exactly to tackle it. Attach the vice grips to the lower right corner, put it on sliding down from the top, and wiggle it out so that you can get the right side of the pedal cover over the outside of the pedal. Then work the lower left corner on with a screwdriver and some brute force. Then pop the lower right corner over with the vice grips and release and boom, you're on.

The gas is more of a finesse exercise. Slide it up from the bottom, and wiggle it around some pulling out the flaps on the sides while pushing the aluminum pedal cover down onto the pedal. It eventually just pops on. Pics of everything below. I'm pleased with the end result but my hands are sore as hell.

Did you have to take off the stock pedals or do these just slide over them?

They just slide off?

And does that provide heel-toe extension on the gas?

Not quite. you kind of have to pop them off. Not too hard, but does take some force.

Not really any heel/toe extension either.
