I know this first post is a bit old:
http://fourtitude.com/news/audi-rumo...ion-a4-rumors/
but considering the existence of the TT Ultra concept at Wörthersee:

it seems like a lot of the fancy weight reduction using "space age materials" is becoming a reality.
If they can shave over 600lbs off of a TT how much would come off the larger 4 platform? 800-900lbs? A next gen S4 at an even 3000lbs would be pretty awesome.
I'm pretty interested in that twin turbo 3 liter diesel they have in the SQ5 as well (313hp, 479lb-ft)

I was laughed at and ridiculed when I posted it here.
I wish I would have saved the review because he laid out the groundwork for Audi future in that piece.

the B9 S model should have something to keep up with the competion;
"AMG's version of the upcoming CLA compact sedan. Powered by a 355-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, the CLA45 AMG will charge to 60 mph in around 4.5 seconds and hit the governor at no less than 155 mph. An all-wheel-drive system will help to get the power to the ground. "

I would love Audi to do this, but it's probably not on the horizon. With more stringent CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) requirements coming soon, they aren't about to put a twin-turbo V8 in the S4. All of the auto manufacturers are moving toward smaller blown engines to try to generate HP, but keep EPA gas mileage up. Audi was sort of ahead of the curve by forgoing the previous V8 and going with a supercharged V6 for the current S4.
