Not sure how many of you caught this, but Motorweek announced there 2010 Drivers Choice Awards and named the S4 best performance car of the year.

I saw that...and the BMW won best 'sports car'. What's the difference?

Or did they come up with another category so they could include both the BMW and the Audi??

Just not clear on what the difference is between a 'sports car' and a 'performance car'

I wonder if one has to do with "performance," and one has to do with looks---even though the 4 rings should win both.

Actually BMW won best sports sedan, but I agree kind of odd. The S4 is a sedan. Maybe they are saying regardless of coupe or sedan so they are calling it best performance car..

I say that it is probably the S4 was the best for all those awards, but BMW paid them lots of money so they too could have an award

BMW is infamous for doing this. Paying review sites for good reviews etc. I'm sure this holds true with a lot of other luxury brands as well though!

Motorweek awards are based on only what they test during their season. Having said that we all agree the S4 is the best or we would have purchased a BMW. Our S4 is far more unique and rare.
