Do you have a link to a press release for that?

The lack of bluetooth audio is my number 1 complaint with my car. Everything else over the last month has been brilliant, but trying to figure out a reasonable way to get access to music (which I usually stream from my phone) has been difficult. The aux-in setup is mostly useless since you can't get to the device to control it.

Default on eBay:

Audi 3.5mm 3.5 mm Mp3 AMI Connector Cable 4F0 051 510C

This could be used to connect the iPhone to the AMI for streaming purposes.

You should already be able to connect your iPhone/iPod to the AMI with the iPod cable that should already be in the glove box.

Right, but not all devices (phones) use the iPod style connector.

iphone4 will connect and work with this device, sounds fantastic also!....but...it does not connect securely with this cord and unless you sit there and hold the cable securely to the phone...it becomes unplugged easily....I would imagine this would become a problem while driving.

Doesn't the iphone use the exact same 30-pin connector that the ipod uses? Why would it be any less secure?

The Audi OE cable is very rigid and kinda short. I've had issues with it disconnecting on a frequent basis - - very irritating.

The cable tends to twist itself away from the device even though there are locking pins on the connector.

The previous iphones might...but the iphone4 has a slightly different connection I believe....I am not 100% sure of this since this is my first apple product. I do know that all the connectors I have for the iphone4 at home do fit very securely and I have no problems with them.

After further inspection the supplied cord is the same connection and does work for the I phone4...although...you can not use any type of protection case on your phone or the supplied cord will not plug in correctly.
