Default Break In

How does properly break in an S4? I should be getting mine this week and want to make sure that I break it in properly. I have seen several different responses to this so let the games begin.

Thanks in advance!!

I'm keeping mine around 3K for the first 500 miles and then around 4K for the next 500 miles.

Your user manual of course details reccommends factory break in procedure.

Do it HARD, don't baby it. I have at least 2 C63 owners swear by it.

The manual is worthless. It says, "for the first 600 miles, don't exceed 3/4 of the marked maximum speed on the speedo". OK, our speedo is marked to 200, so that means don't exceed 150??

Agreed - user manual useless for this. I follow my own procedures of driving as I normally would any other day of the life of the car. Seems to work.

I think the brakes need more break-in than the engine.

I"m sure there are plenty of very strong opinions on the subject though.

So following this - should you break it in with the manual Tiptronic in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear, or maybe just put it in sport mode and go semi-hard?
