Default Break in period?

Over the years of car ownership i have been told mixed messages, some dealers tell me to drive it like it should be driven, some tell me i shouldn't go above 4000RPM, some say baby it, etc...

What are the rules for the S4? What did you guys do?

In a nice way of responding, this has been discussed before. This thread can only lead to another whole thing of bickering and "my way is better than your way" type of stuff.

Go and use the search function. Youll find it discussed many times.

OR.....RTFM. :-)

I think he cannot RTFM as he does not have his car yet. In the old days was STFA (search the forum archives). or SFAQL (search first ask questions later)

I'm in the final weeks (hopefully days..) of waiting for mine and read DR GP's post regarding break-in and the subsequent link and it's got me thinking... I hesitate to ask what others have done for fear of just getting "this is what I did so it must be right" responses... That said, easy, hard, or WOT to engine breaking 3 times per day? More importantly- why?

Sorry- it sounds like this is a can of worms like "sport diff or not" or "manual vs DSG"... I think I'll AMM (Ask my Mechanic).

Tough crowd...

I did do a search, but came back with way too many results and mostly irrelevant, figure it would be faster if i asked.

Oh well forget i asked... will just see what the dealer has to say when the car finally arrives.

Please don't break it in easy. You get one oportunity to break in your engine. Then you live with the consequences
