CD player/changer in B8 S4 Prestige?
Can one play CD's in the S4 with Prestige Package, or are we to rely on iPod's, etc.? I see a 1 CD radio listed for the Premium Package, but what is a 1 DVD player in the Prestige Package?
In my current B7 S4, I have a 6-CD changer and was hoping for same.

CD Player
You can play a single CD or import music from your iPod. You can also download music to to the hard drive from an SD Card. You can also watch a DVD (movie) while standing still.

You cannot rip anything from regular audio CD's or CD-R's to the jukebox (Audi's hard drive). However, if you have mp3 files (or a few other digital audio formats) on a data CD-R, they can be ripped (Audi calls it "imported") to the jukebox. MP3s can also be "ripped" from the memory card slots into the jukebox.

I did some research on this. If you want the 6 CD changer it's like $900 rock bottom (or $1100 MSRP). It takes the place of your iPod connector and uses the AMI, which is an analog interface.
Your best bet is to put music on the SD card (which is digital in) or in the jukebox (however that is done, I don't have prestige or nav).

So one could convert a CD to a compatible format on an SD card
Apparently the 2010 MMI support formats;
Industry - MP3
Apple common - M4A, AAC
Windows - WMA-9
So it looks like ripping from a CD to WMA-9 format should give reasonable results, if one does not use/have any Apple products. The MMI should be able to accept the WMA-9 format, as long as DRM does not get in the way.

The reason for CD changers is to use existing CD collection
If one has a lot of CDs, with a CD changer, there is no need to transfer files or rip music to another format. One just places the 6 disks in the changer. No computer needed.
