Anybody using a netbook dedicated for using with vagcom. Thinking about getting one as I'm a Mac user. Just wondering how well they work with it? Seen some as low as 149.00.

Just a warning, I've seen some newer netbooks on the low end with ARM processors, that run embedded windows. You won't be able to find much software to install on these, even though they look and run like a normal windows netbook at first glance. You may be better off doing a bootcamp install if you've got a macbook, probably less expensive also.

I was lucky enough to snag one of these for $150 during Amazon's Black Friday Sale: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004UR1670/ref=pe_175190_21431760_cs_sce_dp_1 Dual core & Windows 7 (albeit the "Starter" edition). I heard you could also hack this one to make it take 2GB RAM. Bought it just so I could comfortably use VAGCOM while in the car...and to carry around with me for general use. I have a 15" laptop right now, and let me tell you, it sucks using something that big & heavy in such a limited space. Plus, my old laptop is dying...parts of the screen are fading o_O

Take a look at the Alienware M11x. It's small but you can still get some significant power in them. Not terribly cheap, but can be had for well under a grand, especially if you look on the Dell Outlet.

I'm a MBP user as well. I believe some were successful running VagCom on their Macs using VMWare or Parallels? I plan to retire my ancient XP laptop (only used for VagCom at this point) and going this route.
